James Bond in Rome: where were the scenes from the Spectrum film shot?

Throughout February 2015, the Romans watched Daniel Craig and the crew of the new James Bond movie, and in October the world premiere took place. As a result, the Roman part of the film takes more than 20 minutes. For all lovers of Rome and Bond, we follow the trail of SPECTRA.

James Bond enters Rome on Aston Martin DB10 along Via di S. Pancrazio, drives through Hotel del Gianicolo (on the right), and Villa Pamphili (on the left).

This is where the borders of the ancient wall of Aurelian begin. If we turn left, we find ourselves on the observation deck of Piazza Garibaldi, but the camera continues to fly towards Largo di Porta San Pancrazio and to

Aqua Paolo fountain (bottom right in the photo). By the way, it is here that “takes your breath away” and the heart of a tourist stops at the beginning of the Oscar-winning film “Great Beauty”, directed by Paolo Sorrentino. In the panorama we see the Altar of the Fatherland on Piazza Venezia. James, in any case, descends to the Trastevere district, and most likely bypassing Porta Porteze, he steps up to the Circus Maximus - all this remains behind the scenes.

I recommend visiting excursions in Rome:

Since already in the next frame, Aston Martin rushes from the side of the Big Circus in a loop past the Arch of Constantine and the Coliseum ...

After some time, James is already in the EUR area at the Museum of Modern Art converted for filming under the cemetery.

Having slept with Monica Bellucci (previously saved her life, but killed her husband, who was buried) in the villa www.villadifiorano.it, which is now used for parties and weddings in Italy, James drives along the Lungotevere along the Tiber.

This view is not familiar to me and my colleagues, I even had to install Google Earth. To the left of St. Peter's Basilica we have the Gianicolo hill. There are no such large palaces. There is a hospital and there is a 5-star Gran Melia Rome hotel, which means that the meeting place of the secret organization SPECTR was finished using computer graphics.

This residence of the SPECTRA was photographed in England - this is Blenheim Palace (Blenheim), the family estate of the Dukes of Marlborough, one of the largest palace and park ensembles in England. Located on the outskirts of Woodstock in Oxfordshire. Who cares, here is the official site of the palace.

Then James leaves the chase and again in the frame we see a piece of my favorite Aqua Paolo fountain. Moreover, agent 007 is traveling in the direction opposite from the Vatican, which confirms the dome in the frame, which again is not visible from this point (there are trees), but the Vatican in that direction (opposite to the movement) is all right.

There are a lot of such one-sided streets in Rome, but the moment itself is curious - the Fiat 500 slow-moving boat is leaving on the right, so grandfather was driving in the oncoming lane (pay attention to the sign) on one-way street - oh yes it's Rome, this is Italy, nothing surprising, I confirm how local.

After a couple of minutes of a dizzying chase, the guys jump out on Via Conciliazione and again rush to St. Peter's Basilica. This street is familiar to any tourist. Those wishing to see her as deserted are invited to excursions at dawn to the Vatican and the magic of night Rome.

After a series of dizzying turns, we effectively descend the steps to the Tiber embankment.

In this frame, after 500 meters, the Ponte Sisto bridge (the second in the frame) is already visible. The race, you guessed it, is on the side of Trastevere (District).

There is no bias in the indicated interval, the trick was shot in another part of the embankment. The moment is very spectacular.

And James's Aston Martin finale is drowning at the Ponte Sisto footbridge.

James is cool, landed on a parachute next to the bus stop on Via Lungotevere, walks past Ponte Sisto (on the left) along an oncoming and, of course, one-way road. How the car drove in and parked on the right side of the frame is a mystery - in Rome there isn’t such chaos on the roads, although it does.

Full chase video:

Of course, as in any movie in SPECTRA with agent 007 in Rome, there are inconsistencies and a more meticulous viewer, especially living in the Eternal City, is sure to find many more nuances. Nevertheless, for me personally, the film shows my favorite places (Gianicolo, Trastevere, Vatican), the incredible pursuit along the Tiber and the beloved Ponte Sisto bridge - only for this you can review the bondian repeatedly.

Watch the video: Spectre- Opening Tracking Shot in 1080p (December 2024).

Italian library on wheels

A school teacher from Italy bought a small truck and made it into a mini library on wheels. In the heart of the Basilicata region, a former teacher, Antonio La Cava, lives to this day, and to this day has not given up his call to teach. Every day, he gets in his small truck, equipped with a small library, and carries books around the city, and sometimes travels outside it.

Fiat History Center equals Louvre in popularity

In just six months, the Fiat History Center website (Il Centro Storico Fiat) gained more “likes” than the Uffizi Gallery and the Vatican Museums combined. The Fiat History Center turned out to be the most popular museum in the vastness of the Facebook social network, both in terms of the number of subscribers (about 100 thousand) and the number of “people who talk about it” (more than 35 thousand).

Italian gestures are not consistent with the language of the deaf

The passion of Italians "speak hands" is known throughout the world. But as it turned out, many gestures contradict the language of the deaf-mute, which is used by thousands of people in the country. Therefore, the government is expected to draft a bill regulating the current situation. The ability to "talk with hands" glorified Italians around the world, along with pizza, pasta and espresso.

In Milan, opens a workshop for unnecessary things

Repaint the old chest of drawers, repair a broken chair or make a lamp out of a can? All this and much more will soon become available to all residents of Milan: on January 29 a real workshop of unnecessary things will open there. This is a great idea and a great way out for those who can’t part with their favorite interior item or furniture, despite the fact that its life has long come to an end.
